The new public library is one of Amsterdam latest great assets. Located next to central station on the Oosterdoks eiland (island) waterfront it offers excellent views of the city, especially from the top level restaurant you can have lunch or a drink with a view.

The library is designed by one of the famous Amsterdam architects Jo Coenen and with 28.000 m2 it is the largest public library of Europe.

Except for reading one of the many magazines or books, enjoying the view and eating something there are many other things you can do. You could enjoy an exposition or check your e-mail while browsing one the 500 pc's, also it is nice just to walk around and take in the design and architecture.
