The museum of the tropics hosts an enormous amount of tropical artifacts that are shown in beautiful exhibitions.

The Dutch colonial history is one of the reasons that this museum exists and it does host a lot of material relating to the Dutch colonies but it also shows much more in modern and fun exhibitions.

Experience an Egyptian traditional coffee house, a rain forest or a slave ship. Many exhibitions are theme based and include 'experiences' like these through constructions like these.

On Wednesdays there are activities for kids (Dutch language), although you can bring your kids here any day.

The museum is part of the Dutch Royal Institute of the Tropics.
