It almost goes unnoticed, but on the second floor of this landmark building you'll find a former monumental departures and arrivals hall, still in its original state. It has a beautiful, linoleum floor and original mosaics but has a new architect-designed bar. Along the entire length of the place is an outdoor terrace overlooking the IJ waterway including an old industrial crane.

Overall, it's a very enjoyable place to be and it has friendly owners and staff. The authentic 1950's atmosphere of it contributes to a cozy feeling, while the place itself is quite large.

There is both a lunch- and a diner menu. The menu does not hold many choices but the food is great.

High-tea can be enjoyed in the weekends (reservation advised) and on Sundays you can relax and enjoy a S.L.A. - Sunny Lazy Afternoon.

The ground floor serves as a small museum with information about the past of the KNSM island.
